George Dickel Bottled in Bond
Cascade Hollow Distillery
Tullahoma, Tennessee
ABV: 50%
100 Proof
Because of my enjoyment of the George Dickel Hand Selected Barrel, this bottle caught my eye in the store. Unfortunately it wasn’t as good but still delivered. According to the website, the whiskey is aged 11 years and this particular bottle was made in the Fall of 2005 offering notes of pecan, maple syrup, and dried apple.
I can get behind that taste description. I was picking up on the smell of maple syrup which was subtle and pleasant. The taste was bit more harsh and peppery to what I prefer but it did linger and smooth out over time leaving a warmness in the throat. At $45 dollars it was a little on the expensive side for what I thought to be a slightly above average whiskey.
