Normal Angel’s Envy is a mainstay on my shelf. If I see a rare limited release for Angel’s Envy, it is a must buy. Then I read the description on the bottle.

You’re holding one bottle from a very limited release. This rare blend starts with a 95% rye mash bill and then it’s finished in vintage casks, which takes the already complex spiciness of rye and balances it with the sweet flavors or bourbons, cognac rum. Enjoy. It might be the only chance you’ll get.

Oh I did enjoy it. I felt like I found the golden ticket. They blended this with all of my favorite liquors? The smell was subtly sweet with hints of light caramel. The taste is where it got so good. Up front it was nice and smooth with a sweet syrup note. Over time more complex flavors moved across the tongue as the rye really hit and it ends with peppery notes and left me feeling all warm inside. It sells for $80 and if you are lucky enough to find a bottle, don’t pass up the opportunity.
