Scapegrace

Scapegrace
Scapegrace Distilling Co.
Canterbury, New Zealand
ABV: 41.6%
83.2 Proof

This was another uniquely colored gin I picked up while on vacation in New Zealand. The bottle is very elegant looking and grabbed by attention at the store. Unfortunately it wasn’t as good as the Blush gin I reviewed previously. But where it lacks in flavor it adds a great color.

By itself the gin has a slight sweet berry aroma to it. The taste is pretty harsh though, it tastes like a mixing gin. And mixing it it exactly how I would use it. The purple color makes any cocktail I made with it look unique and interesting. It is only a little bit more than other mixing gins, about $35 so I would suggest going with this if you had the choice, but it seems hard to come by in the United States at this time.
