I raved about this Heaven Hill Old Style Bourbon a few years ago and mentioned that it had been discontinued. Well it looks like they revived it some capacity. Unfortunately it is still limited to Kentucky and the price for the bottle went up a bit, about $20 a bottle. A friend was able to secure me a few bottles which was awesome because Kentucky isn’t exactly close. Overall I really enjoyed it but it wasn’t as good as the discontinued one.

The bourbon smells great and is surprisingly complex. I got notes of oak and earth and even some cedar? The taste just has a light even sweetness and is very smooth. That’s what I love about this 6 year, just how drinkable it is for the price. If you are in the area you can’t go wrong with it and if you aren’t in Kentucky you are just out of luck.
