Is this Scotch really just an excuse for me to display pretty pictures of Edinburgh Castle? I mean kind of. Jura Prophecy is not only a cool name for a Scotch but it was my favorite of the many I tried while visiting Scotland with my brother last fall. Just outside the castle entrance is a nice place appropriately called The Scotch Whisky Experience. It was a great way to try out a lot of scotch as they had an extensive menu.

This is a single malt with the descriptors of “Heavily Peated” and “Spicy Sea Spray” on the bottle and that’s it. It was a UK exclusive and a limited production so after trying it at the scotch restaurant I had to do some tracking within the city. I actually wouldn’t describe the peat taste as heavy at all. It isn’t there on initial taste but slowly builds up and is quite smooth. It is very easy to drink and if you can still find a bottle somewhere in Scotland I recommend it at around the 80 US dollars I paid for it.
